Mapping SKUs and Sales Tax Holidays

You can set up CCH SureTax to follow the Sales Tax Holiday rules for sales tax during specific sales tax holiday periods. When you set up a sales tax holiday mapping in CCH SureTax, you specify a SKU/product value to identify the mapping, select the transaction type code for the type of product that will be exempt from tax during the tax holiday, and set the start effective date and end effective date for the mapping.

An item in a transaction will follow the Sales Tax Holiday Rule applicable for that holiday in a specific jurisdiction if all of the following are true:

  • You have opted in to sales tax holidays in CCH SureTax.
  • You have set up a sales tax holiday mapping with an effective date during the transactions, and which matches the item's transaction type code.
  • There is a sales tax holiday during the period covered by your sales tax holiday mapping.
